Nigeria’s Vehicle Components Manufacturers Plan to Feed Assemblers
Motor vehicle assemblers in Nigeria are expected to have a more reliable supply of auto components starting in 2026, as local manufacturers ramp up production to support the industry.
Anselm Ilekuba, Chairman of the Auto Component Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (ACMAN), emphasized the critical role of component manufacturers in sustaining aftersales services and addressing the frequent demand for vehicle parts. ACMAN, in collaboration with the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), is developing a digital platform where assemblers can list available parts, enabling dealers and users to access them instantly.
The platform, set to launch in 2026, will include all registered assemblers and ACMAN members, supported by an international donor agency. Strategic partnerships with India and South Africa are planned to enhance capacity. ACMAN aims to strengthen Nigeria’s automotive sector, expand regional influence, and increase local auto component production under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
