Dangote partners Abuja chamber to boost African trade

Dangote Industries Limited has confirmed its sponsorship of the 2025 Abuja International Trade Fair,organised by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI). The event, scheduled to run from September 25 for 12 days, aims to boost industrial growth, attract investment, and promote sustainable development in Nigeria and across Africa.

The fair’s 20th edition, themed “Sustainability: Consumption, Incentives, and Taxation”, will spotlight sustainable business practices, green technologies, and policies to transform industries and livelihoods. Dangote, through this partnership, intends to showcase its diverse portfolio—including sugar, cement, salt, fertilizer, trucks, Peugeot automobiles, packaging, petroleum products, and more—while emphasizing innovation and continuous growth.

Fatima Wali-Abdurrahman, Senior Adviser to the Dangote Group President, highlighted that the company remains committed to innovation despite being a continental market leader. She also praised ACCI’s “Buy Africa, Build Africa” initiative, which seeks to strengthen regional value chains and local content development.

According to ACCI President, Chief Emeka Obegolu (SAN),the fair is expected to attract over 100,000 participants, including government agencies, multinational corporations, SMEs, diplomats, and development partners. Exhibitions will span trade, agriculture, fintech, renewable energy, transport, environmental solutions, and the creative industries.

ACCI’s Director-General, Dr. Agabaidu Jideani, explained that the fair is not just a commercial event but a platform for innovation, eco-friendly technologies, and sustainable solutions. He stressed that Dangote’s partnership adds visibility, credibility, and global reach, reinforcing ACCI’s mission of promoting trade and investment.

Over the years, Dangote has consistently supported ACCI initiatives, with its president, Aliko Dangote,recognizing the Chamber’s strategic role in Abuja as a hub for policymakers and diplomats.
