Chisco begins Yutong, Sinotruk assembly in Lagos, rolls out 80 luxury buses, 40 trucks for new Drive-To-Own franchise

 Chisco Transport Ltd, one of Nigeria’s leading road transport and logistics companies, has officially begun assembling Yutong luxury buses and Sinotruk trucks to modernize its operational fleet and support the launch of a new transport franchise. The company’s assembly plant in Iponri, Lagos, also handles other top Chinese commercial vehicle brands.

The initiative, called the Drive-To-Own franchise, will be operated by trained and screened captains, with an initial fleet of 80 buses and 40 trucks connecting the Southeast with the North and providing premium services on the Lagos–Accra West Coast route. The luxury buses feature 53 air-conditioned seats, phone charging points, and on-screen entertainment, while the trucks come with advanced facilities including captain bed spaces.

At a recent presentation ceremony, Chisco Group Chairman Dr. Chidi Anyaegbu emphasized his commitment to investments that boost the economy, create jobs, and improve Nigerians’ quality of life. Managing Director Mr. Obinna Anyaegbu highlighted the company’s dedication to moving both passengers and critical cargo, such as medicines, with high reliability and safety standards.

Yutong technicians pledged 24-hour after-sales support, faster spare parts supply, and maintenance training to ensure the smooth operation of the buses. Beneficiaries of the Drive-To-Own program confirmed that they are trained and ready to deliver quality, safe, and comfortable transport services. The vehicles produced at the Chisco assembly plant are also expected to attract patronage from other transport and logistics companies.
