Chinese diplomats deepen Nigeria ties at Ogun trade zone

The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Duanhai Yu, and the Chinese Consul-General in Lagos, Yuqing Yan, visited the Ogun Guangdong Free Trade Zone (OGFTZ) to reinforce Nigeria–China relations. The visit emphasized the zone’s strategic importance for trade, industrial cooperation, foreign investment, job creation, technology transfer, and overall economic development in Nigeria.

Ambassador Yu praised OGFTZ’s contributions to Nigeria’s industrial growth and highlighted President Bola Tinubu’s recent visit to China as a key step in strengthening bilateral ties. He noted that both nations aim to elevate their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership, focusing on sectors such as agriculture, trade, investment, manufacturing, and infrastructure.

Additionally, China’s zero-tariff policy for African countries is expected to attract more Chinese investors and further support Nigeria’s economic development.
